August 2004 - Flight Centre

Flight Centre is an international company operating more than 1000 stores in the UK alone, with many more world wide.

They offer all of the standard travel related offerings, including hotels, travel insurance and car hire, but their speciality is cheap flights - in fact, their web site states their rather bold cheapest flights guarantee, which is to beat any current air fare, including those that can be found on the Internet.

The site offers a constantly changing selection of offers from the home page, to a huge range of locations including Spain, Australia, Cape Town, Amsterdam, Paris, New York and many more.. Once you click through on an offer, there is relatively scant information on each offer, and there is no facility to purchase any of the holidays or flights on the web site. This is because the aim of the site at the moment is to get it's visitors interested in a package, and then phone a call centre to book through one of their knowledgeable call handlers.

All in all, a great site with some great deals; some sort of online booking system would be good, but the relative inconvenience of phoning is justified by the incredibly cheap prices.
